A Funeral Directors which has supported the Stockport community for more than a century has become the first in the UK to provide two electric vehicles based on a Ford Mustang Mach-E.
G W Turner Funeral Directors in Old Chapel Street, Edgeley, now offers families the chance to use the electric hearse and limousine modelled on the premium SUV.
As well as being carbon neutral, the vehicles also have a smooth comfortable ride, feature all the modern benefits and innovations found in modern electric cars and are quiet, which is crucial for use in funerals.
Funeral Director Nicolle Smith said: “We are proud to lead the way as the first funeral service in the UK to introduce the Ford Mustang Mach-E electric fleet,” she said.
“By offering this environmentally conscious option, we are not only meeting the evolving needs of our clients but also contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.
“It’s a testament to our ongoing commitment to serving our communities in Stockport.”
G W Turner Funeral Directors was first established in 1907 and are now part of the Funeral Partners family of businesses.
Phil Barr, Regional Development Director, said: “These cars are absolutely remarkable, and I am sure they’ve already proved very popular with the families we serve at G W Turner Funeral Directors.
“They’ve only been on the road for a few days, but our Funeral Service Operatives are enjoying driving them.
“They look exceptional and have that quiet dignity we value so highly.”
The hearse includes noiseless operation, a flat, full-length deck with ample space for personal flower tributes, three full-size bearer seats with lap and diagonal seatbelts, and a glass roof, while the limousine is luxuriously appointed and can carry seven passengers in addition to the driver.
